Traffic Force Careers

Frequently Asked Questions

A: Yes, all workers must start and finish their shifts at the depot – this means you will require reliable transport to travel to work for each shiftOnce you arrive at the depot, you will meet your crew and collect a company vehicle (as well as any equipment required for the job) before heading to site.

A: Daily hire employees are similar to full-time and part-time employees. You will still get entitlements such as annual leave and sick leave, however you are rostered on a day to day basis and don’t have “set” hours of work.

Having these leave entitlements available means you can take time off when you’re unwell or wanting to head on a holiday and know that you will still have some income coming in.

A: We are able to accommodate some limited availability for our workers, however your communication with the team about your availability will need to be communicated in a timely manner and correct in line with Traffic Force’s leave and unavailability policy.

Please keep in mind that if your availability is limited to certain days, it will impact our ability to put you on any long term/ongoing projects and may therefore affect the consistency of your rostering.

Please note that we are unable to accommodate limited hours per day, for example if you can only work 0900hrs – 1430hrs daily.  We have no control over how long shifts will run for as this is determined by our customers on ground.

A: You will need to be able to travel to the depot for each rostered shiftStart times for shifts can vary anywhere from 5.00am daily, there may also be times where you are required to work night shift or on weekendsPlease keep this in mind if you intend to rely on public transport to get to work.

A: To commence work as a traffic controller you are required to hold the following qualifications:

  • Construction White Card
  • MRWA Basic Worksite Traffic Management & Traffic Controller accreditation

We can help connect you with a training provider if you’re not sure who to speak to, please reach out and let us know if you would like these details.

A: Unfortunately, you will be unable to work as a traffic controller in WA without accreditations issued in our state as each state has different training requirements.  We suggest contacting an RTO in WA directly to discuss your options (this will ensure you are getting the most correct and up to date information).  You should expect to have to re-sit at least part of a BWTM & TC course in WA.

In most cases the RTO will also require you to provide copies of the Statement of Attainment issued to you in the state you initially completed training in order to provide the correct advice, so make sure you have these ready!

A: Our traffic controllers are paid as per the CW/ECW Level 2 of the Building & Construction Award at minimum.  If you have prior demonstrated experience in the industry, you may be eligible for a higher pay rate; if this is the case our recruitment team will discuss this further with you.

A: Roles based out of our Bunbury depot currently count towards regional work as we fall in the correct postcode.

Please be sure to keep yourself up to date with any changes to regional work requirements by visiting the Department of Home Affairs website – https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/

If you are wishing to complete regional work with us, please keep in mind that you will need to relocate to Bunbury for that period of time at your own cost.

A: Yes, you will need a valid Western Australia Driver’s Licence to work for usAll workers must be able to operate company vehicles in the case of an emergencyIf you hold an international driver’s licence, you must transfer this to an Australian licence before you commence work with us.

A: Workers are responsible for their own private living arrangements, this includes if you are wishing to relocate for work or are completing regional work away from where you are usually based.

Traffic Force will only provide accommodation for workers who are specifically working on a project where they cannot safely return home at the end of each shift (for example if you are based from our Maddington depot and needed to travel to Geraldton to work onsite).
